supporters in delray beach, florida, and then fly to ohio and campaign with vice president biden. mitt romney will campaign with paul ryan today in colorado. both are looking for a boost from their third and final debate. they argued over foreign policy issues. iran's nuclear program dominated part of the debate. mitt romney accused president obama of allowing iran to get closer to gaining a nuclear weapon. the president claimed his republican rival actually empowered iran. >> we're four yards closer to a nuclear iran, and we should not have wasted these four years in the point they were able to spin these centrifuges and get closer. >> the fact is, while we were coordinating an international coalition, you were still invested in a chipese state oil company that was doing business with the iranian oil sector. >> president obama also said reports that the u.s. and iran

new jersey, is believed to be missing 12-year-old autumn pascual. she was seen leaving her home noontime in clayton riding her bike to a friend's house. when she didn't show up, her parents called police. thatment proed the massive search. two hours ago investigators announced they have found the body that is autumn. an autopsy will be performed to confirm the body's identity. now at 4:36 the massachusetts pharmacy linked to a deadly meningitis outbreak was cleared by state regulators after an inspection last year. the inspection report shows the new england compounding center received a satisfactory grade. federal investigators are blaming the outbreak on tainted steroid shots. the cdc says 23 people have died from the fungal meningitis outbreak, including 2 people in virginia and 1 in maryland. the monster energy company is facing a lawsuit from a maryland family after they say

their daughter died from high levels of caffeine. anais fournier died from a severe reaction after drinking two of them in 24-hour period. cause of death was caffeine toxicity. >> they need to be regulated. they regulate ice. they regulate band-aids. we need to get the word out there so this doesn't happen to anyone else. >> energy drinks are not regulated because they are not considered a food. monster says they're unaware of any deaths linked to the drinks. council members said during an at large council member debate they would vote to ban the sale of large sugary drinks. a tax on sodas introduced by council member mary cheh recently fell one vote short of passing. new york city passed a law last month that banned the sale of super size soft drinks.

several businesses are fighting to repeal that law. a mini announcement by apple. it's widely believed the company will unveil the ipad mini today. the smaller version of the ipad is expected to have an eight-inch screen and use the new dot connector unveiled on the iphone 5. the price is still unknown, but estimates range from $250 to more than $300. there are reports it could be called the ipad air. the announcement is scheduled for 1:00 this afternoon. not to be outdone, microsoft is unveiling its new tablet called surface this week. >> and the other companies will come out with something else. >> it's a fight to get one before christmas. ahead on "news 4 today," no time for the hospital. the unexpected delivery on the side of the beltway. plus why it may now pay to own a home in the d.c. area.

this morning people in northern california are cleaning up from some wild weather. here's a look at one of several funnel clouds spotted near sacramento. the national weather service confirms at least five tornadoes touched down last night. strong winds damaged roofs, uprooted trees, and knocked over a tractor trailer. so far there are no reports of any injuries there. 4:41. time for weather and traffic on the ones.

himself. haughton had a restraining order against his wife. on thursday, a court ordered him to turn in any firearms he owned. two days later he bought the gun used in the attack. a woman described what she saw and heard. >> he was yelling for people to get down, and that's when i heard all the gunshots. >> she says it sounded like the gunman kept firing until he ran out of bullets. four other women were injured in the shooting. three remain in the hospital. time is 4:46. new york city police do not believe there's any connection between d.c. area sniper lee malvo and the murder of a pregnant mother over the weekend. someone stabbed vindalee smith to death saturday in new york. police said the killer left a note warning that he or she would kill more pregnant women unless malvo is released from prison. police say the note may be a ruse to distract investigators. smith was a mother of four. she was supposed to get married on sunday. daycare owners in northern virginia entered a plea deal avoiding jail time connected

with a baby's death. rosita chavez and her husband ran an illegal daycare out of their home in bristow. a 3-month-old baby died in march. investigators could not determine the cause of the girl's death. in exchange for guilty pleas, investigators sentenced chavez to three years in prison. that was suspended. she'll be in jail fon probation three years. police arrested a teenager accused of killing a 22-year-old man in the district. prosecutors charged 18-year-old kevin austin with the murder of 22-year-old gregory troxler. he was shot and killed in the middle of the day in an alley off north eighth street earlier this month. the victim's mother remembers the day. >> i heard shots. i come running outside, and it's my baby on the ground. i'm trying to get to my baby. i get there, and there's no life to him. he's gone.

i didn't even get to tell my baby before he left me i love him. >> austin has a criminal record and spent time in juvenile facilities for an arson charge. at the time of the shooting, he was wearing a court ordered gps tracking device, but it stopped working just before the alleged crime. firefighters are still trying to figure out what sparked this tractor-trailer fire in tinnily town. it was making a delivery to wisconsin avenue and brandywine street just before 7:00. somehow the items in the trailer caught fire. after a scandal over mislabeled graves, arlington national cemetery has a digital database. it can be accessed online and through the smartphone app. it allows you to search for a name, see where that person is buried, along with birth and death dates, and see photos of the back of the head stone. about 90% of the cemetery's 60,000 grave stones are included. the rest date back to the civil

war and are still being researched. good news for d.c. homeowners. your house is worth more than it was last year. new numbers from the real estate company zillo says prices rose. the d.c. area saw the biggest gain with prices rising 9% since 2011. zillo expects prices to rise at least another percent over the next year. controversy in alexandria over disappearing grass. crews laid down new grass on a median along route 1 between east glebe road and potomac avenue. now they are tearing it up. turns out it will be a median lane for buses. the grass, although short-lived, is designed to cut down on the dust kicked up by construction. they say the green patch is a waste of federal dollars. crews say it's within budget. a man is at rest this

morning after helping his wife deliver a baby along the beltway. stacy ann bryson was due to be induced. but she started having contractions, and the whole family jumped in the car. they ended up getting stuck in traffic on the beltway. forcing dad to call 911. with the right instructions, baby aaron mason was born, a healthy 6 pounds, 7 ounces. even the brother helped in the delivery. >> he's crying. i think he's breathing. >> gently wipe off his mouth and nose and dry him off with a clean towel. you want to tie the shoe lace around the umbilical cord. >> i was tugging on my shoestri shoestring. >> the brysons are all doing well. they're trying to figure out what nickname to give little aaron, maybe shotgun, 95, or shoestring. >> congratulations. way to keep cool, dad, and big brother. >> of course, traffic on the beltway, gets you every time.

well, chris cooley is a redskin again. the redskins re-signed the popular tight end to replace the injured fred davis. the team released cooley in august, but he never signed with another team. head coach mike shanahan called him sunday night to see if he would be interested in coming back. cooley said he could not sleep that night because efhe was so excited about returning. >> i'm not sure what the role will be week one or week two as i transition into it. i've got to prove to them i should be on the field, and i've got to prove it right away. that's what i want to do. i have a chance to take advantage of a great opportunity this year, and i'm looking forward to that. >> the 30-year-old cooley played hi his entire career with the burgundy and gold. he is a fan favorite. i know a lot of fans, when we saw fred davis get injured, think about that right away. >> i guess the management did too. >> good luck to him. >> the time is 4:51.
